One of my favorite poems that is really inspiring!DreamsHold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow. -Langston Hughes My IGoogle

Untitled

What am I waiting for?
I have to stand up for more.
Brush the dirt off myself,
I have to break out of this shell.

Stepping off of this ledge,
onto what lies ahead.
Blinded by the light.
Seeing beyond my sight.

What is beind this hidden wall?
Another child heeding this call?
Listen now and listen hard,
Think before you play the wrong card.

Guessing is a part of life,
whether it ends up right.
The lesson learned the hard way,
is better than learning in no way.

Reach for what seems far away.
Try to move on from where you can’t stay.
You never know what lies in front,
Until you are nearly done.

Long Time No Blog

Alright, well. This overcastting shadow,
Slowly drifts away.
The sun arising more and more,
Each and every day.

Even through these hard times,
And even through these bad,
It’s so easy to be happy,
Yet too easy to be sad.

Sometimes I want to be alone,
Curled in my little corner,
And others all I need and wish to have,
Is to be together.

As my mind is bottled,
And my soul in shock,
The love of all my family and friends,
Lifts me up to walk.

After all this grief has passed,
I know I’ll be alright,
Because even through these hard times,
My sunshine still shines bright.

-Ted Wolf

The Choice

Above the noise,
A single voice,
Calls out of the crowd,
We all have the choice.

The choice to be free.
The choice to dream big.
The choice to make your life grow,
Starting from just a sprig.

The strength to be you.
The strength to express.
The strength to say no,
And the strength to say yes.

Everyone has the choice,
To direct their own lives.
Everyone has the strength,
To be themselves.
Through thick and thin,
Through leaps and dives.

-Ted Wolf

Dreams

Think to yourself,
What will I become?
If you have a dream,
You’ll have a thousand wonders and some.

Dreams complete life,
Dreams bring forth greatness,
Dreams fufill goals,
And bring out elateness,

Life is nothing without a dream,
but a willow sad at a stream.
Life is dark without a dream,
Without any light, not even a beam.

Think to yourself,
I have a dream,
And the day will come,
When your name shall gleam.

-Ted Wolf

"And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. Searching through the darkness,
For a glimpse of light,
Searching for something just out of sight.

It may take a lifetime,
It may take a day,
However long it takes,
We find something to say.

We develop dreams,
We set our goal.
We strive to reach it,
To find our inner soul.

Reaching our peak,
We sit back and smile.
Everyone has his chance,
To make their life Worthwhile.

-Ted Wolf

The Creation

The Creation

I stare out the window,
Staring out into space,
Wondering what had happened,
To make this such a wondrous place.

As the world was created,
It brought forth many things,
The stars with their beaming light,
The bees with their stings.

It created man, with all of our dreams,
That we wish to seek so that we can too gleam,
It gave us our sight, our smell, and our taste,
It gave us hearing, without any haste,
Our senses soon came, one after another,
Then we could tell one from the other.

It created nature, It created darkness,
It created peace, and then brought us brightness.
It created thought, and when all was lost,
It created warmth to rid of the frost.

It brought us emotions, so we could express ourselves,
Happiness, Sadness, and all of the rest,
And after all, they made us our best.

And when the world was finished, It watched over its work,
Accomplished and great, he stood atop a little house,
And stared happily and the newly-wedded groom and spouse.

-Ted Wolf

For the rest of my Life

For the Rest of My Life

Living in my little town,
the pressuring suspense shall never drown.
What will happen as I live on?
Will I rise up or will I fall down?

There are choices to make,
Many small, many hard,
If I make the right choices,
Bring forth inner voices.
Ill create the change,
Of how my life will arrange.

If these choices come later or soon,
Breaking free from this enclosing cocoon.
I will express myself in many ways,
Soar with the eagles, Fly with the jays.

Ill live life with a basket of smiles,
Alongside friends, family, wife and child,
Rising up beyond amibition,
Rising up beyond frustration.

I’ll live happily for the rest of my life,
Happily for the rest of my life.

Ted Wolf

I trudged through the woods with them hanging around,
Standing still in the wind, spellbound,
Their magnificent limbs, covered with green,
Standing stiff, wishing to be seen.

As I look at them,
smiling with glee,
I know there is no better sight,
Then the Sight of a Tree.

-Ted Wolf February 13, 2008

We are learning about poetry and we had to write a poem about any subject we wanted. I decided to do a poem about looking back at life.

A Beautiful Ride

As I lay beneath myself, looking back at the days,
Looking back at all of my ways,
I notice I have nothing to take back,
Nothing to forgive.
I lived life the way I wanted,
Lived life just to live.

As I look back at my choices,
I noticed I have nothing to hide,
because all in all,
Its been A Beautiful Ride.

We had to write about someone we who we’d like to recall to life. I decided to take a slightly humorous take.

Recalled to Life

If I could “recall” someone to life, I would bring back Abraham Lincoln for a day. I would recall him because he is one of my biggest role models. I admire his great leadership skills, his amazing mind, and his personality. I dream to become as great as him.
During the day, we did many great things. We went out to lunch, took a tour White House, and explored Gettysburg. I took him out to lunch at a very nice restaurant in Washington D.C. During the meal we had a very, very interesting conversation:
“WOW! It is an honor to meet you. You are one of my biggest role models!” I said.
“I am very glad to hear that! But I have two little questions.” Abraham Lincoln said.
“Yes?” I inquired.
“Well, I have no idea how I got here or who you are so…..can you fill me in?” He pleaded.
“Oh, of course! My name is Ted Wolf, and I brought you back to spend the day and answer some questions.” I explained.
“Oh, well what do you want to know? He asked.
“What was life like back in your days? I inquired.
“During my time, life was mysterious and dangerous. You had to check around every corner before you took a step.” He explained.
“Wow! That’s amazing!” …
You can see how it went on from there. We had a delightful meal and I heard many fascinating tales. Then, we were off to the White House.
As the bus arrived, I could see the joyfulness in his eyes. He was so happy to be back at his home. At some points he seemed a little too happy. Let me explain…
The tour was going great, we roamed the hallways and walked through the rooms, but then, it started to soar downhill. We came to the hallway that led to the Oval Office, and he wanted to see it, but I didn’t for one little reason, the big red sign that read “OFF LIMITS”. I still followed him, but I stayed at the doorway, you know… just in case.
We stayed in the oval office for 10 minutes, when we heard footsteps. Secret Service footsteps. I told President Abe that we had to go, but he pushed me away and said that he wanted to meet President Bush. Oh joy! A President who died over 130 years ago that everyone thinks is some guy dressed up wants to meet the present United States President in an office where we could get arrested….. why not! I pulled him away and explained that he wasn’t welcome. Everyone thought he was just someone dressed as Abe Lincoln. He claimed he understood and we got on the plane to Gettysburg.
After that whole fiasco, it felt good to be somewhere calm, where we could walk and talk peacefully; well, that’s what I thought. He told me many stories, and also gave me very useful tips on how to be a great leader like he was. I never noticed how amazing he really was!
We walked quietly for a bit, but then….BANG! A reenactment had started! I was so interested in how they reenact a real battle! You really felt like you were there!
Abe jumped down as soon as it started, and when he saw me standing and watching, he yelled for me to duck for cover, but I stood there as if I was in a trance. He leaped up to his feet and tackled me to the floor.
“Ow! What did you do that for?” I screamed.
“The Civil War! Its back! We have to get inside,” Abe exclaimed.
“No, No,” I said, trying not to laugh, “It’s a reenactment of the battle of Gettysburg. They do it for entertainment!” I yelled.
“Well, OK, but still, why were you not ducking, you could’ve been shot!” He screamed.
“They aren’t shooting anything. It’s okay. Come on lets get home.”….
So, in conclusion, the day was kind of crazy, but I thought it went well. Who cares if we almost got arrested for trespassing in the Oval Office, and Abe will recover from his Post Traumatic War Syndrome. It was an amazing experience and I learned more than I could ever learn about Abraham Lincoln.

Something new.

Hey everyone. That is the exact words that my whole family screamed as R.W. McQuarters intercepted the game winning pass for the Dallas Cowboys.
The Giants Win!!!

As the team walks off the field, every Giants fan was thinking “We’re going to the Championship!”

All we have to do is take home a win against Brett Favre and we are going to Pheonix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For once in I don’t know how many years, we have done something we have ever done before, we celebrated Hanukkah ON Hanukkah, and I would have to say that it was one of the best yet.

As I made my way over at about 10:00 AM, I imagined the day coming up at my Grandma’s traditional house of party, and, let’s just say WOW!It was much better then I imagined, (Aside from all of the little kids trampling and pinning me down onto the ground every 5 minutes).

Everyone started to arrive at about 1:30, and by 2:15, we were already lighting the menorah. Not exactly sundown, but hey, at least we got it on the right day, no party is ever perfect.

After the lighting of the menorah, my favorite time of the afternoon has come, present time. I didn’t really want anything this year except the best present of all, MONEY! (and itunes MONEY!)
If you can’t think of anything you want, money is always good. Once you DO think of something, you can buy it!
145$ and 55$ itunes money, (YAY!!!)
Now comes the time for the thanks. I’d like to thank my Uncle Adam and my Aunt Anna (great shirt!), my Mom and Dad, my Grandma and Grandpa (house which the day happened in), Aunt Jo-Jo, Uncle Peter, Griffin, Lil’ Peter, Uncle Eric, Aunt Mary, Dana, Faye, Gail, Ben and Nate.
